My Path to Self Discovery – My New Years Reading 2024

Published by

Excited to start my New Year’s Resolution, I flipped to the New Year Reading Tarot Spread, which Angelo Nasios created from his book Tarot Tracker.

New Year is a great time to let go of what no longer serves you from the previous years and refocus on what you want to accomplish in the New Year. It may be a trend, overused tactic, or excuse to jump on a train finally. You should have boarded any other day of the Year, but it is an opportunity.

This New Year’s Tarot Spread is the perfect way to check in on what I am bringing into the New Year, who I am becoming, my goals, and who I can expect to become. I can check in with myself and this Post every month to see if I am on track or if I need to adjust some goals to be more aligned with my lifestyle.

Nonetheless, I always believe that too high of a goal is good; what matters is that you start, put in the effort and continue moving forward, no matter how slow.

Here is what My Spread below looks like utilizing The Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot, which you can purchase in my Amazon store if you are interested in blessing me with a small commission. 💖

The New Year Reading Tarot Spread.

The Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

1. Me as I am now entering the New Year. Card: The Star and Death

The Star Card and Death Card from the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

Ahh Yeaa…This combination was indeed enjoyable to receive; I give you that.

My Moon is in Aquarius, so I naturally resonate with the Star card. The Naked Goddess carries herself through the darkness with only the light from the stars above to guide her on her path of the unknown.

However, she is not afraid, as she can see a glimpse of the future and knows where she is headed, but how she will get there is a mystery. Only her faith in the stars keeps her grounded with her feelings and emotions, one foot in the water and one foot on the earth.

Her faith in something greater inspires her as she goes towards her hopes and wishes, vulnerable and bare, with nothing to cover her but the shadows of the night. Although naked, she is free from bondage and liberation, and her trust in a higher power helps her be connected with self-awareness, mindfulness and spiritual devotion.

The Death Card was a bit of a surprise for me at first. I thought I was letting go of my Star energy, but then I realized it meant something transformative.

The Zodiac Scorpio and the 8th house of Sex, Magic, Transformation, endings and new beginnings rule death. Some part of me is dying or is in the process of shedding its skin, and a New me is emerging with more vital faith and belief in myself and the magic of the Universe than ever before.

The Star is all about immortality, a deep knowing that our soul is eternal. However, to have this immortality, we must die and release that attachment to what we think we need to stay alive. It is the fear that keeps us from walking through our shadows.

Interestingly, one of my resolutions by the fire was to have more faith. Now, I see that this Ego Death is necessary to emerge empowered, confident and more aligned with my purpose than ever before.

“Life is not separate from death. It only looks that way.”

(Native American Proverb/ Blackfoot)

2. What does this Year expect from me? Card: Warrior of Wands and The Empress

The Warrior of Wands and The Empress from the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

Ha ha ha.🤣 – I hesitated when I saw this combination because it is contradictory, especially how the cards are positioned beside one another, but I will explain why it works.

I have been working on unionizing my feminine and masculine energies for a few years, trying to find that equal give and take between passive and active, receiving and giving, yin and yang.

The Warrior of Wands reflects the Masculine energy within me that the Year expects me to embody to reach my passions, goals and creative pursuits without any doubts in mind. If I feel it, I shouldn’t hold myself back, and I should go after what I want with determination, excitement and spontaneity. This passion is an exciting energy to see, and I love that the Empress is beside it in her feminine energy, awaiting the Warrior of Fire to come home to be nurtured, loved and cared for after being on the move all gas.

The Empress is the Divine Mother, representing nature, fertility, Mother Earth, and universal Love. She is the portal between the Divine and the creation of Life. Her Beauty and Happiness make her warm, reassuring, empowered and Healing. Without her, I would not be able to create because her connection to a higher light gives power to the warrior of wands to pursue his passions without a thought.

“God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers”

– (Jewish Proverb)

The Crazy thing about this combination is that there is no structure or attachment to a routine. I am to be receptive, nurturing myself, focusing on self-love and well-being until I receive a sudden rush of inspiration and energy to take action with such a force I am deemed unstoppable. – Well, this should be interesting. 😏

3. What do I expect from this Year? Card: Ace of wands

The Ace of Wands from The Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

Well, that is different from what the Year expects from me now. I expect to be active, always inspired, and initiate daily, and I always want that drive, but the Year seems to have other plans.

You see, I love the passion and thrill of what I do. I am naturally creative, and when I receive that surge of inspiration, I always want it. I cannot wait to wake up the next day and go even harder. However, at times, the Universe has other plans, and I wake up feeling depleted, run-down, or busy with other obligations, which requires me to rest or take care of other Empress things to keep my empire standing.

The ace of wands represents the male libido, and it’s true that without that feminine Love to keep things emotionally safe, nourishing and Healing, the libido will fall, and passivity will strike. My expectation is solid but sustainable, perhaps not without the Empress to guide me toward the perfect time for spiritual enlightenment.

4. How do I need to change to meet these expectations? Card: Justice

Justice card from the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

Balance. I need complete adjustment and alignment to regularly meet my expectations of action, passion, and creative bursts of energy.

I am a Libra Sun, so embodying my zodiac’s natural Archetype Justice should be fine this Year.

Justice speaks about taking control of Karma, simplifying our lives by weighing what needs to be done and what we want to have done. It is our Divine retribution to be fair with ourselves and others, abiding by the cosmic law and thus working towards our Dharma.

“In case of doubt, it is best to lean to the side of mercy.”

– (Legal Proverb)

It is weird because I kept receiving flashes of my career this morning when I pulled this card into what I needed to change—something about my work, 10th house, public persona and worldly pursuits.

Although I admit that working as a Psychic deep in providing spiritual guidance, I often weigh the sides of truth to help my clients see their situations from a higher perspective.

Now, a full-on change in my career. Still, I did recently dive into Journalism, and working as a healer, there is so much information out there that cannot be taken lightly and needs to be accessed, researched and investigated before finding the true resolution. – Perhaps… I am already making that change. We shall see.

However, I will surely keep the scales of balance in check throughout the Year when I need to root myself into the ground without flying away.

5. How will the Universe help me make this change? Card: Five of Wands in Reverse

The Five of Wands in Reverse from the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

Yippee!! – Let me tell you, I had a lot of baggage to let go of. When I was trying to pull a Tarot Card for this question, I kept having four or five cards fall out, which told a long story about all the pain, drama and attachment I held on to, not only last Year but years before.

So, I am happy that the final pull was a straightforward energy, speaking about releasing that Chaos, drama, war and battle I faced within and outside of myself to come out victorious and triumphant.

Don’t get me wrong, the only person I am competing against is myself; I prefer to stay in my lane and keep my head up, like Tupac said, and work to be my best self daily. However, even when you are your only competition, obstacles and challenges occur from your subconscious and externally manifested, challenging your choices and initiative actions.

I am thankful that the Universe will help me release this battle and take me away from the drama and conflict that is no longer mine to play a part in. – Grateful.

6. What aspects of myself do I keep? Card: Nine of Wands

The Nine of Wands from the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

I love this specific card from the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot Deck.

In the original  Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot, the 9 of Wands depicts a man standing broken down, beaten up, and still trying to defend himself with a fence that barricades his creations behind him.

However, this Nine of Wands is softer. It still speaks to me about a woman who needs to protect her energy and keep her head above water. However, she is nesting in her garden of Eden, which she has created for herself, fruitful, emotionally safe, and blessed to rest in and smell the flowers.

Still resilient as ever, she has not given up when tired. Instead, she has chosen to sit down for a minute, take a breath, give thanks for all she has, and protect herself with Grace before continuing her fight to reach her specific goals in mind.

7. What aspects of myself do I release? Card: Nine of Swords and Seven of Cups

The Nine of Swords and the Seven of Cups from the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

Uhm yea. I consciously decided during New Year’s Eve to release stress and a person I deeply love. I harbored anxiety about daydreaming or imagining the possible outcomes of my heart desires, which was messing with my mind throughout the Year and not serving me any good. Who wants to hold on to a fantasy when the Love is unrequited? – I am still allowing Love to come through without resistance so I can heal and be open to possibilities beyond my imagination.🥰

Action speaks louder than words, and these words took over my mental space. At times, it was telepathic, coming from my clients, and other times from my spiritual lover, who clearly had no intention of manifesting in my Life any time soon, but the possibilities, wow, did he ever whisper many into my ear. Without action, it remains a fantasy, and it opens up doorways to wander off for too long, blocking the third eye and frankly becoming entirely lost.😒

I have become more aware of the telepathic impressions of my clients and other people, and I am better now at allowing it to come up in my mind without attachment, solely through observation. This has been helpful in my work and finding peace, not taking on what is not mine.

I am thankful for the lessons that got me here, as with every new ability, it takes time to ground, grasp and understand.

Lastly, the focus of this release is taking Accountability for my Life. If I dream of something, and I want it, instead of getting lost in that fantasy, I will get up and take action towards making it a reality instead!

8. What gifts from the Universe will I discover? Card: Nymph of Wands

The Nymph of Wands from the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

Initially, the Page of Wands in the Traditional  Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot speaks about a wanderer and messenger that brings forth some secret information or inheritance of great consequence. This stranger fears commitment, as he is just an apprentice learning to handle the fire that is spontaneously igniting in his soul, pulling him to try many new things on a whim.

This version of this card, the Nymph of Wands, brings me a different meaning. A woman sitting in a bed of flowers, holding a wand, ready and willing to go on an adventure and discover where her spark of creativity will take her. However, she is grounded and already has a garden she has nurtured behind her.

She is ready to begin a more extensive journey, experience a milestone or start a project. She might even enjoy a catalyst to ascend, transcend obstacles, learn, expand and come closer to her true self. Her spirituality guides her with an invitation spark of creativity, ideas, inspirations and passions while still maintaining patience before embarking on her personal guidance.

I can discover these qualities in myself this Year as the Universe gifts me with spontaneity and new creative inspirations. Or I may be gifted with courage and a lack of fear of trying something new and embarking on sudden journeys that come from within my soul, pulling me into unexplored paths and new phases of Life.

The Universe may gift me with archetypal energies in my surroundings, embodying this element of surprise as examples or messengers with something essential to share.

10. Who May I Become as a Result of this Journey? Card: Queen of Cups, Two of Swords and Ten of Pentacles

Queen of Cups, Two of Swords and Ten of Pentacles from the Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot

Initially, when I pulled the energies for this final question, the Ten of Pentacles were absent.

I was pretty triggered by the Queen of Cups and Two of Swords combination because it brought me back to a time, many years ago, when I was overly attached to other people’s needs, emotions, and expectations, to a point where I ultimately gave up my own to make sure that they were happy, which often left me feeling paralyzed mentally (Two of Swords).

However, I asked spirit and the Tarot to show me the truth of this result of my years Journey, and I realized that I was triggered by the Reverse energy of the Queen of Cups, which is codependent, needy, taken advantage of, and lacks boundaries, over gives, and forgets to nurture her own.

The Queen of Cups is empowered upright as it fell out. She empathizes with others’ needs but does not attach to energetic chords that drain her entire cup of healing Love. She can provide compassion, Love and emotions of understanding to others, but she sets appropriate boundaries, resolutely not getting involved in becoming anyone’s saviour.

She understands that other people’s happiness is not her responsibility and that she can provide guidance to help others as an example but not take on burdens that are not hers to carry.

The Two of Swords archetype in this deck is similar to Justice. The woman is grounded in her intuition and, as a result, carries two swords of two different perspectives and truths but does not yield them. She is blind and, as a result, must choose to trust her instincts instead of her logical mind. Guided by the Crescent moonlight, indicating that her emotions toward the situation are just beginning to form, bringing her deeper insight.

The Two of Swords in this position is empowering. Choosing not to strike with direct communication but instead weighing closeness without merging. Maintaining balance and equilibrium in the situation, coupled with the Queen of Cups, for greater empathy and intuition, thus knowing the higher path to take.

“If you want to be respected, you must respect yourself”

– (Spanish Proverb)

I pulled the Ten of Pentacles last as a clarifier, which gave me a sense of relief. I understood then that not only is this the type of energy I will embody within my career, with my clients, and my Journey to creating my long-term wealth and legacy, but also in my community, my immediate family and soul family in my Life.

The Ten of Pentacles is an energy of enjoyment of riches, wealth and all the time, energy and resources you put into building your empire. Stable and secure, enjoyed by you and also those that you love, I am thankful that this Three Card combination is who I may become as a result of my 2024 Year long Journey 😎

Please try this spread out to reflect on your 2024 and build greater awareness and mindfulness throughout the Year.
